Stress is one of the few things in life that is easy to acquire and harder to banish. Between the demands of work and family, I found myself feeling constantly on edge a couple of years ago. Getting to sleep was difficult and some nights impossible. It did not take long for the stress to negatively affect my work performance and my relationships.
Fortunately, a friend recommended a self help book that talked about managing stress. The book included tips for recognizing the underlying origins and what can be done to minimize the effects. I put some of those suggestions to the test and they really did work.
